Six Elkamet locations on three continents

Biedenkopf has been our central company location since it was founded in 1955. In addition to the management, important administrative departments and part of our production are also located here. The focus is on the manufacture of extruded plastic profiles for vehicles – a business area that is in high demand internationally. The location is complemented by the production of plastics for decorative lighting, our own mould and tool making, and the Elkamet talent factory for promoting young skilled workers.

Since 1999, the Wilhelmshütte site, located on the site of the former Buderus ironworks, has been an important part of Elkamet – affectionately known as “the hut” by employees. What began with the relocation of a rotational molding plant after a fire in Biedenkopf quickly developed into a specialized production site for container solutions.

Today, the focus is on the manufacture of rotationally molded tanks for hydraulic oil, fuels, and urea, as well as components for agricultural technology, trucks, motorcycles, and the construction machinery industry. Through continuous investment, such as the construction of a second production hall and the expansion of the neighboring Friedensdorf site in 2023, production has been steadily expanded. Wilhelmshütte was also the starting point for international expansion: new sites in Czechia and the USA followed in 2005 and 2007.

Friedensdorf has been part of Elkamet since 2019 and has quickly developed into an important production and administrative location. What began with the use of a single hall quickly turned into a comprehensive site expansion after the entire site was taken over.

Today, Friedensdorf is home to central company divisions and, in particular, parts of the growing vehicle container business segment. Since 2024, additive manufacturing has also been added to our on-site production portfolio – with modern facilities in an expanded manufacturing environment. Friedensdorf thus stands for technological advancement and sustainable manufacturing processes within the Elkamet Group.

Elkamet manufactures in several halls at its Czech site, with further expansion planned for 2024. Production focuses on rotation, blow moulding and profiling.

Rotational moulding is mainly used to produce containers for agricultural machinery, commercial vehicles, motorcycles and construction machinery. Blow moulding focuses on motorcycle tanks and liners for CNG and, increasingly, hydrogen engines.

Since production began in 2007, East Flat Rock in North Carolina has been the first Elkamet site on the American continent. What began with eight employees and one rotary machine quickly developed further: by 2012, the site had already doubled its capacity.

Today, more than 160 employees work at our US site – with a high level of expertise and great commitment. East Flat Rock produces high-quality plastic solutions for a variety of industries. In addition to tanks for construction and agricultural machinery and innovative applications in the field of TPE, there is a particular focus on the manufacture of extruded plastic profiles for the automotive industry. This business area is now the fastest-growing and highest-revenue segment at our site and a key component of our international success.
