With its new location in Chakan, Elkamet is expanding its presence in India. This will allow us to strengthen our ties with local customers, shorten delivery times, and lay the groundwork for growing alongside the thriving Indian automotive market.
In early 2026, Elkamet began establishing a new facility in India: Elkamet Private Limited is located in Chakan, near the metropolis of Pune. The region is one of the country’s most important industrial and automotive hubs—many well-known automakers and suppliers are based here. With this new facility, we are not only strengthening our proximity to our local customers but also laying the groundwork for, to continue growing alongside the thriving Indian auto market.
With this facility, we aim to supply Indian customers with Elkamet products more quickly in the future. This increases our flexibility, shortens delivery times, and enables us to maintain a consistently high level of service. In Chakan, we assemble prefabricated water tank profiles on bending machines; the raw parts for these are produced in Biedenkopf, allowing us to participate in the growth of the Indian market from there as well. An important milestone has already been reached: In June 2026, the first water tank profile assembled in India was unveiled.
We are supported on site by the sales representative Quanzen. Soon, finished profiles will be shipped directly from India to our Indian customers.
