A key takeaway from the talk was the clear message that artificial intelligence is by no means a ‘job killer’ – in other words, it does not take anyone’s job away.
Elkamet recently had the pleasure of welcoming a special guest: Prof. Dr Michael Guckert from THM Mittelhessen, who teaches business informatics and artificial intelligence at the Friedberg campus, gave a lecture on the fascinating and complex subject of artificial intelligence (AI) at our company premises in Friedensdorf. There was a great deal of interest amongst our colleagues in this forward-looking topic – so much so that our company hall in Friedensdorf was filled to capacity.
Following an introduction and welcome to our guest by Philipp Flammer, Prof. Guckert gave our staff a comprehensive insight into the origins, benefits and potential risks of AI as part of his presentation. He explained clearly exactly how AI works and learns. Practical examples and everyday tools such as ChatGPT – which some staff may already be familiar with from their personal lives, for example – rounded off the presentation.
Prof. Guckert emphasised that AI can support people. It can be used in a targeted manner to tackle challenges such as the shortage of skilled workers, thereby contributing to successful business development.
Thanks to the positive feedback from colleagues on the presentation, Elkamet remains committed to keeping staff informed about new technologies in future, thereby creating an innovative and modern working environment.
