The hr Big Band performs at the Elkamet Music Hall

On Friday evening, the music hall at the Elkamet company in Dautphetal-Friedensdorf became the venue for a special concert.

The hr Big Band presented its program, “Clarke Boland Celebrated,” and thrilled nearly 400 attendees.

The event, organized by the Eckelshausen Music Festival under the direction of Mareile Zürcher, was completely sold out. Zürcher, who is the second generation to lead the association as its first chairwoman, emphasized in her welcome remarks: “We are very pleased to have Elkamet as our partner for this event.” Since the 1980s, the Eckelshausen Music Festival has been bringing culture to the region—and Elkamet has now opened its music hall for the fourth time for a concert.

The hr Big Band was at its best that evening. Under the baton of principal conductor Erik van Lier, who guided the audience through the program with charm and humor, the audience enjoyed an energetic performance full of rhythm and brilliance. The exceptional acoustics of the Musikhalle, in particular, allowed the powerful wind arrangements to shine.

The audience was thrilled: The guests gave a standing ovation, clamored for encores, and spoke of an unforgettable evening. Many Elkamet colleagues were also in attendance with their families and enjoyed the concert alongside the company’s management.

As a result, the evening became more than just a cultural highlight. It served as a prime example of how culture can be brought from the metropolitan area to the wider region—and of just how powerful the synergy between industry and culture can be when both partners work together.
