The extrusion process is a highly specialised manufacturing process for producing precise plastic profiles, pipes and components with a constant cross-section. This technology enables the continuous production of products in virtually unlimited lengths and offers a unique combination of precision, material diversity and cost efficiency.
Elkamet has many years of experience in extrusion technology. We are continuously developing these leading technologies. Our R&D activities focus equally on the manufacturing process, the materials and the product properties.
The classic extrusion process for homogeneous profiles made from a single material. Ideal for standard applications with high volumes and consistent requirements.
Simultaneous processing of two different materials in a single operation. Enables the combination of different properties such as hard/soft components or different colours in a single profile.
Highly complex three-layer systems for the most demanding applications. Combines three different materials with specific functions in a single component.
The material is melted and homogenised in the extruder at a controlled temperature. This ensures even material distribution without air pockets or inhomogeneities.
The molten plastic mass is pressed through customised nozzles that define the final profile. Complex cross-sections and material combinations are implemented with precision.
The extruded profile is stabilised in a controlled cooling process. Precise temperature control ensures minimal deformation and high dimensional accuracy.
The finished profile is cut to the desired length and further processed if necessary. Continuous quality controls ensure compliance with the highest standards.
Choosing the right plastic material is crucial for the performance and durability of the end product. In our extrusion, co-extrusion and tri-extrusion processes, we process a wide range of high-quality polymers that can be individually combined depending on the application.
We would be happy to advise you on the selection of the optimal material – individually tailored to your technical, economic and specific requirements. If the desired material is not included in our list, simply contact us – our selection is much more extensive!
